Today one of my bosses was creating the work schedule for the next pay period, and in confirming my end date she said, “We can’t wait to have you back next summer! Everybody likes you!” To which I replied, “So, it’s a done deal, and I get to come back? For real?” Answer: “I can’t imagine why NOT!”

YAAAAAAAAAYYYYY!!

  1. It’s called double checking your passion. How nice that it is a mutual admiration society. Question: Do all the staff live on the property, or do some live in towns nearby? What kind of staff is maintained during the winter? Do they get any snow at all? How cold does it get. Oops. I see that there’s a site for “Arches NPS site” that I should check. It may answer some of my questions.

  2. The seasonal staff live at the park entrance. The permanent staff have real houses in Moab. Winter staffing would be considerably fewer than summer. I asked a Moabite if he had a snow shovel and he just laughed at me; apparently it melts immediately when it does snow. I will look forward to a MN winter and a UT summer next year.
