Far, far away: Horseshoe Canyon

Water container filled. Groceries bought. Powerade stocked up. National Park Service vehicle gassed up. Sunscreen handy. Camera at the ready. Horseshoe Canyon, here I come…

This is a post to tell you that I will be incommunicado until March 24. Radio contact via The Maze district of Canyonlands National Park is the only way to reach me for the next ten days. I’m pretty sure this is the longest stretch of “remote” I will have done, ever. I’ve got good books and extra batteries. See you in a while.

  1. Are you staying at the campground, or will you be in the back country the whole time?

    • The “campground,” as such, is the parking lot of the trailhead for this canyon. Read on in the next day or two and you’ll see where I stayed. It was, umm, a backcountry “campground.”

  2. Kathryn, Have a great time. Will be praying for you, I know you will spend some very rich time alone with the Lord. Blessings, B

    • Thanks for your prayers, B. It’s been very rich, indeed.
